Device B2C and B2B specification

Electrical and electronic equipment is classified as either B2C or B2B depending on whether it can be used in households or not.

A consumer product (B2C) is a product that can be used in households without being converted. Products that do not meet this criterion are business products (B2B). Whether the product is sold to a household or a business is irrelevant to the determination. Nor does it matter whether a company sells products directly to consumers or, for example, to a consumer through a reseller. The supply, distribution or sales chain is therefore not decisive in determining the status of a product.

All lamps are classified as consumer products (B2C).

Please note that an individual device always falls into one of the categories. We have compiled examples of devices and their categories here. Elker’s member support can help you with device classification and specification based on the WEEE directive. membersupport (a) elker.fi
