Labeling and notification of the recycling fee

The WEEE Directive requires devices placed on the market to be marked with a separate collection mark. The separate collection mark is a waste container over which a cross has been crossed.

In special cases, due to the size or function of the product, the separate collection mark may appear on the packaging of the device, in the instructions for use and in the warranty certificate. Read more: on the Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency (TUKES).

Notification of the recycling fee

In Finnish consumer trade, a possible recycling fee is always included in the purchase price of the device, ie the costs arising from waste management may not be reported separately when selling a new product. In business-to-business transactions, the recycling fee can be reported separately if desired. There are country-by-country differences in the recycling fee notification within the EU.
