How do I know which equipment is covered by producer responsibility?
Producer responsibility covers electrical and electronic equipment that requires an electric current or an electromagnetic field to function properly, or that is intended to generate, transmit or measure such a current or field, and is designed to operate at an alternating voltage of 1000 volts or DC. How do I know if our company needs to report to the producer community?
All member companies of producer organizations must complete quarterly reports. If your company has not placed SE devices on the market during a reporting period, the report must be filled in with 0 quantities for that period.
Where can I fill out quarterly reports?
The quarterly reports are completed on Elker Oy’s website in an electronic reporting system, a link to which can be found on the Front page and the Reporting page.
I received a reminder in my email about a missing report that I think I filled out. How do I make sure?
You will receive an email acknowledgment of a report that has been successfully completed. It’s a good idea to check your email for a receipt for the reminder period. You can check which reports you’ve completed in the reporting menu of the reporting system. If it appears that you have completed all the reports correctly, you may want to contact Elker to verify that the reports you have submitted have been received.
How often are devices reported?
The member companies of the producer organizations report the equipment they place on the market in Finland and Åland in quarterly reports every three months. Reports must be completed by the last day of the month following the reporting period. The report for the last quarter of the year must be completed by January 15 of the following year.
How often are only products suitable for business use reported?
Member companies of producer organizations report only products suitable for business use on a quarterly basis in quarterly reports. Reports must be completed in the month following the reporting period by the last day. The report for the last quarter of the year must be completed by January 15 of the following year.
Are products exported abroad reported?
The producer organization asks producers to report directly to the end user equipment sold at a distance in the EU once a year via a separate reporting link. The link will be sent in late winter or spring to the reporting contact. The number of these devices is not included in the quarterly reports reported in Elker’s electronic system.
In addition to the annual report, the company reports to the target country in accordance with local guidelines. Contact your authorized representative for the exact country of destination.
Will we have to report retrospectively after joining, even though we have reported to the Pirkanmaa ELY Center before joining the producer organization?
After joining, the member company must report retrospectively for the current year. If the company wishes, it can also report on previous years when joining. The Pirkanmaa ELY Center only charges a reporting fee to companies that report there in accordance with the state’s basic tax decree, so no recycling fees have yet been paid for the consumer products in question.
